Ukraine Mayors, UBBC and businesses trade visit to UK

UBBC hosted over 80 Ukraine Mayors, 20 leading businesses, officials and advisors on 21st May. The group were visiting the UK to establish and connect relationships with suppliers and investors, to support the redevelopment and construction of their regions, to share their vision of how each region can development and the active opportunities within them. With thanks for support from both Coventry university in London and CMS Law, who provided the venues in the morning and afternoon sessions.


The Mayors, presented their city and the immediate regeneration opportunities for public private development, an analysis of the sector opportunities each offer investors. A number of Ukraine businesses presented their capabilities, including sectors from  Water purification, energy production and management, business parks, tourism and rare metal production.


Key areas for development included: IT and High tech, Agriculture, Finance, Infrastructure, health care including medical devices and human wellbeing.


UBBC members presenting to the Mayors included Zaha Hadid’s Yevgenia Pozigun, who gave an inspirational overview of their capabilities in city master planning and future vision for cities like Odessa, that engaged many Mayors interest, and ACROW’s Michael Treacy who presented the modular bridge products available to Ukraine, that enables fast and low cost application of their bridges built in UK and internationally to be constructed simply and locally where damage to rail and road  tracks has to be restored swiftly. Simon Cassey of Chesterfields attended and discussed insurance opportunities with numerous contacts. Konstyantun Kyrychenko of Kyiv School of Economics, allied to Bath Spa university also addressed the Mayors,

 

UBBC would formally like to thanks Coventry university and CMS Law for hosting over 80 attendees, and the Mayors club for bringing the group to meet our members.


Ashley Goodall of UBBC says ‘ it’s clear from the range and depth of the delegation that Ukraine is serious about rebuilding back better, with state of the art infrastructure, investment in innovative companies and numerous opportunities for investors across a range of sectors. we appreciate the delegation included UBBC in its agenda and look forward to members active engagement in future projects.’


Yuliya Chufistova of the Mayors club said ‘ The UK holds  a special place in Ukrainians hearts, and we are travelling around the country to establish connections for rebuilding the country and for public private partnerships. We’d like to thank UBBC for its support in organising the pitch day in the city of London and look forward to future events and tangible business engagement’
