The ‘Ukraine Music Aid’ day will take place on 2nd May 2026, and all UK and Ukrainian Universities are invited to participate.

The idea is for each Universities music department to arrange for a day of performances from 9am to 9pm or later, and to broadcast these via their digital media channels, such as YouTube or Facebook. The broadcast streams will then be aggregated and edited into an additional master live channel by Bath Spa university’s technical broadcast team.

Ukraine Music Aid is designed to raise funds for Ukrainian charities registered in the UK including:

  • British Ukrainian AidAid Ukraine

  • Humanity & Inclusion

  • Ukraine Relief

  • AMAR Foundation

  • Cormack Agency (Generators)

  • British Red Cross

AMAR Foudation will be collecting donations via their donation platform, including gift aid, and then pass the funds to the various charities. The link is below:

Each university will offer whatever music they wish and include non-Music student musicians and alumni, and is also designed to showcase the importance and talent in the music departments, and to intersperse the performances with Ted Style talks on benefits of music to health, learning and wellbeing from other academics. The event is open to any music groups wishing to participate.
